Suffering Endured Rom. 5:3-5

God's response to our endured suffering is a change in our character.

Romans 5:3-5
3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;
4 perseverance, character; and character, hope.
5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

   In other words, difficult times build patience, and patience builds experience, and experience builds our faith in Christ's ability to deliver us.

  The "hope" of Romans 5:5 "elpis" means confident expectation.  We can confidently expect God's love to be poured into our hearts and onto our lives.
